The American Red Cross Lifeguard blended program trains lifeguards to act with speed and confidence
in emergency situations both in and out of the water. It combines online learning with onsite sessions
conducted by a Red Cross certified instructor. Upon completion of this course, participants will receive

  •     American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding Valid for 2 years.
  •     First Aid/CPR/AED valid for 1 year.
  •     American Red Cross Administering Emergency Oxygen valid for 2 years.

You must be at least 15 years old and pass a swim test prior to taking class** which includes the following

  •      550-yard swim which must include
  •      2 Min, Tread with no arms
  •      Timed event 1 min 40 sec
  •      Surface dive in water depth 7 -10ft
  •     Participants must also be able to dive to a depth of 9-13 feet, retrieve a 10lb object and swim 20 yards.
  •     Exit pool without using steps

Please note students who do not pass the pre-requisite swim test will be refunded the program fee less a $50 service fee.

 

Cancellation Policy
Please note in order to receive a refund in accordance with the schedule below notification must be made to
the Aquatics Director. Email Christine or 315.685.2266 ext 2004
Cancellation before or up to 7 days prior to start date: Full refund
Cancellation by 3 days prior to start date: you will be refunded the registration fee less a $50 service fee.
Cancellation later than 3 days prior to start date / no Show for class:  There will be NO refund given.

 

NEW! American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding Certification add-on for ARC Lifeguard.
This add on to the ARC Lifeguard certification will provide currently certified
guards an opportunity to further their skills, and develop the skills and
knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in non surf,
open water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps
and campgrounds.

Students must hold a current ARC lifeguard certification.
This add -on Certification is valid for 2 years.

American Red Cross CPR-PRO / AED Certification & Re-certification
This course teaches those with a duty to respond how to care for breathing and
cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Re-Certification

Lifeguard Instructor course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Shallow Water Lifeguarding,
Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding, Waterfront Skills, Waterpark Skills, First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, Administering  Emergency Oxygen and Bloodborne Pathogens.This course prepares instructor candidates to use course and presentation materials,
conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of candidates in a professional-level course.Upon successful completion of this course
and associated testing participants will earn:

  •     ARC Lifeguard recertification with Waterfront
  •     CPR/ AED Recertification
  •     ARC Lifeguard Instructor certification

SCUBA
SCUBA certifications are available at our facility in conjunction with Deep Stop SCUBA
