The Y is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charity that works side-by-side with our neighbors every day to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. One of the ways we do that is by providing financial assistance to children, adults and families who may be unable to afford a membership or participation in our programs. The Y counts on the generous donations from the public to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in our services.
When you give to the Y, you’re doing your part to strengthen our community—and a strong community is good for everyone. Whether you’re helping a child in need attend summer camp, giving someone the assistance they need to make a healthy change in their life, or contributing to the construction of a new Y facility, your gift will let us continue to affect positive change in our region.
From preschool and personal training to adult enrichment and volunteerism, we’re more than just a place — we’re a cause. We strive to meet everyone’s health and wellness needs, not only to strengthen bodies, but also to strengthen our community.
One way to help support our cause is through our Annual Support Campaign. Y donors pledge generous gifts to keep our programs running smoothly and support members in need. This campaign helps guarantee that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, can benefit from the Y’s programs. Together, we can make a better us.
Donations in each Y community (Auburn, Skaneateles) will support the respective Y.
In 2018 over 400,000 dollars were awarded to people in our community in need of assistance. These dollars sent, kids to camp, helped working parents send their children to before and after school care, taught children to swim, helped adults and their children lead a heathlier life through membership and access to Y programming.

Your support is integral in helping the Y continue our commitment to providing quality programs to
everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. You benefit from having a strong YMCA in your community. Our programs for youth provide meaningful opportunities for young people to grow into responsible adults. The Y makes your community a better place to live and work.
Membership dues and program fees cover the cost of maintaining and operating Y facilities and programs for Y members. Donations help support programs for everyone in the community, particularly children and families. Contributions also provide financial assistance for
individuals and families who cannot afford membership or program fees, but can benefit from participating in our programs.
